Cancellations and no-shows
Cancel a non-refundable booking without losing the money, and free the room.
Daniel Kim booked two nights on the Non-refundable rate, then wrote to say he can’t come. The rate promised Hotel Alberto the full amount whatever happens. Hoteliera shows the cancellation policy on the booking, but it doesn’t charge the fee by itself, so the desk does two things in order: issue the invoice for the stay (that is the fee the guest owes), then cancel, which frees the room for someone else.
Hands-on
- Open Reservations › Daniel Kim. Total cost shows what the Non-refundable rate makes him owe: €201.80.
- Go to Financials and click Invoice all charges, then Save. An invoice for the stay is issued. Collect it from the card on file or by asking for a transfer.
- Back on Accommodation, click Cancel reservation and confirm in the box that pops up.
- The status turns Canceled. The invoice stays.
No-shows. Setting a booking to No show keeps the room counted as occupied. If you'd like to sell the room again, invoice the stay as above, then cancel the reservation.
See the effect
In the planner, room 101 is empty again for 23 to 25 November, and the website can sell it.
