Connecting Booking.com and Airbnb

See what connecting a booking channel involves, before you switch it on.

Most small hotels sell on Booking.com and Airbnb as well as on their own website. Updating each one by hand is how double bookings happen. A channel manager keeps them in step: when a room sells anywhere, the others are told within seconds, and prices you set in Hoteliera go out to every channel. This chapter walks up to the point where Hotel Alberto would connect Booking.com, without switching it on.

Hands-on

Booking.com up to the property ID
  1. Go to Settings › Channel manager / OTAs. Available OTAs lists Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, Vrbo, Google and others.
  2. Click Connect under Booking.com.
  3. Step 1, on Booking.com. In your Booking.com extranet, choose Zodomus as your connectivity provider (the Guidance button explains where). Then tick I’ve added Zodomus as a connectivity provider on Booking.com.
  4. Step 2, in Hoteliera. Type your Booking.com Property ID and click Connect to OTA Channel Manager.

What happens next

  1. Hoteliera reads your Booking.com room types and rate plans, and you match each one to Hotel Alberto’s (Double ↔ Double, Flexible ↔ the Booking.com standard rate, and so on).
  2. From then on, availability and prices are sent from Hoteliera. Change a price in Availability & Rates and Booking.com follows.
  3. Booking.com reservations appear in the planner like any other, with the channel’s colour, and the room disappears from every other channel.
  4. Allotments per channel, if you want to keep some rooms for your own website, are set in Availability & Rates.
The property management system is free; the channel manager is the paid part (from €25 a month). In this guide nothing was connected: the draft Booking.com entry was removed again.
